At VFW Post 649, we are dedicated to ensuring that veterans and their families receive the support and benefits they have earned. Our Post Service Officer is crucial in guiding veterans in accessing available assistance.
🔹 Assists Veterans with Gathering Documents
The Post Service Officer helps veterans compile necessary paperwork for VA benefits, disability compensation, pensions, healthcare, and survivor benefits.
🔹 Refers Veterans to the Department Service Officer
While the Post Service Officer does not file claims, they connect veterans with the Department Service Officer, trained and accredited, to assist with filing VA claims and appeals.
🔹 Provides Information on Available Benefits
Veterans and their families can seek guidance on VA benefits, healthcare options, education programs, and community resources.
🔹 Supports Families of Veterans
Surviving spouses and dependents can receive assistance in understanding burial benefits, survivor pensions, and dependent claims, with referrals to the appropriate agencies.
If you or a veteran you know needs help to gather documents or to understand available benefits, contact us today.
